The delivery of Hairdressing and Beauty Diploma is available to learners aged 14-16.

 

The diploma is designed for 14-16 year old's that are in full time education and want to work towards a vocational qualification along side GCSE's.

 

This course runs on a day release basis over 2 years. The diploma is made up of many parts to help develop the knowlege and understanding and skills that you will need to work in the industry.

 

Entry Level 3: Award or Certificate
You're completely new to the hair and beauty industry and want an introduction so you can see what a job would involve and develop some essential skills
 

You complete 2 mandatory units:

 

Introduction to the hair and beauty sector

Presenting a professional image in a salon

 

You also choose a number of optional units, depending on credit size from a selection of 11. To see the complete list of options ask your school advisor.

 

 

Level 1: Award, Certificate or Diploma
You're just starting out in hair and beauty and want an understanding of the industry - enough to succeed in a job in the hair and beauty area or move on to further study.
 

You complete 2 mandatory units:

 

Introduction to the hair and beauty sector

Presenting a professional image in a salon

 

You choose a number of optional units, depending on credit size, from:

Create an image using colour

Hand care

Nail art application

Skin care

Shampoo and conditioning.

Styling men's hair

Styling women's hair

Basic make-up application

The art of dressing hair

The art of photographic make-up

Hair plaiting and twisting hair

Themed face painting.
