Hairdressing Apprenticeship
How will I learn?
You will build up a portfolio of evidence of the experience, situations and duties you have dealt with relating to your job. On the job assessments will be carried out in your workplace.
Once you have shown enough evidence to meet the criteria, you will complete your qualification.
Apprenticeship
You will be trained to City and Guilds Hairdressing QCF (NVQ) level 2 Diploma and study Key/Functional Skills.
Functional Skills help you to develop qualities and transferable skills, which are desirable to employers, including application of number and communication.
Advanced Apprenticeship
You will be trained to achieve City and Guilds QCF (NVQ) level 3 and will also do Key/Functional Skills. This would be suitable for those preparing for a supervisory role.

What does the course involve?
Good communication; advising clients; shampooing; basic cutting techniques; styling and finishing; health and safety; and optional units.
How will I be Assessed? Your work will be reviewed throughout the year in the workplace by your Assessor or training co-ordinator.
How do I apply?
• This course requires an interview.

• Once you have completed your application form, return it to us at the address provided on the form and we will contact you to arrange an interview.
• At your interview you will meet course tutors, complete an initial assessment and be advised how, if you are successful, you should enrol within the year.
Other information to consider
There are some additional costs which will need to be considered:
Hairdressing kit - £250 approximately
Uniform (Tunic top and trousers) £40.00 approximately
Please not those prices may vary. You must have your kit and uniform by the 6th week of the course.
You will also need 2 lever arch files, plastic wallets, dividers, pens and paper.
Qualifications needed to start
Minimum of 3 grade C GCSEs or equivalent including a level 1 vocational qualification or Foundation Diploma. Evidence from College/Training provider assessment of Level 1 Literacy & Numeracy. For Level 2 practical programmes applicants may be required to demonstrate they have the relevant Level 1 practical skills.
